Sea Ranch Recap Part 2
Saturday morning we kicked off Molly and Nick’s wedding day with total calm and confidence — a direct result of the full trust they placed in us. After seeing how present they were throughout Friday’s events, I knew they were going to hand things over and let the vendor team do what we do best. That kind of trust is the greatest gift.
And let’s talk about the weather — we got SO lucky! Coastal weddings are always a toss-up (rain, fog, wind, all of it), but we had clear skies and perfect temps. It definitely got chilly at night, but nothing a martini tower and packed dance floor didn’t fix.
The ceremony was absolutely stunning. Both Molly and Nick had wedding parties, but they chose to have them seated, which I always love because it keeps the focus entirely on the couple. The views behind them were iconic, and Muse Floral Co. brought the bride’s vision to life with the most beautiful bouquet and aisle florals…floral but still grassy and organic.
Cocktail hour featured one of my favorite design details: the bar. Katia from Muse and I knew we wanted to make a statement, and the couple was totally on board. The bride had the idea to incorporate abalone shells — a nod to her family’s longtime tradition of abalone diving in Sea Ranch. It was such a meaningful and personal touch. Karina of Studio Lameraner designed the most beautiful bar menu inspired by the iridescent tones of the shells, and the result was so cohesive and cool. For drinks, they had a custom cocktail created by one of their guests and a self-serve tub of bottled beer — the perfect mix of elevated and laid-back, which felt so right for a coastal wedding.
To kick off the reception, we surprised guests with a second line parade leading them to the tent which was such a fun moment (shoutout to Ben Mallare Band)! Molly and Nick entered to huge cheers, going around to high-five nearly every table and instantly setting the tone for the night. The energy was next-level.
The tent was a dream and truly a career highlight for me. It was my first sailcloth tent with a leveled floor and custom railings, and seeing it all come together was so rewarding. From the beginning, the couple wanted an open-air vibe so guests could take in the view and we ended up with a sunset that looked like it was made just for them.
After dinner, guests made their way into the lodge for the after party, where three of the couple’s friends DJ’ed. We welcomed everyone with baby Guinness shots, sequined linens, and red lighting to set the tone for “Club Sea Ranch.” It was the perfect end to an unforgettable day.
Seeing Molly, Nick, their families, and their guests so genuinely happy filled me with pride. It’s such an honor to be entrusted with a couple’s wedding day and it’s something I never take lightly. Care, collaboration, and a lot of hard work always lead to magic. This one was no exception.
